Salary: £17.500 – £18.500

Service Hours: Full-time, 37.5 Hours, Monday – Friday


We are looking to take on a highly motivated, experienced, hard-working and committed individual to join our expanding Support and Housing team in Smethwick, West Midlands. As a Support Worker, you will have duty to support and supervise vulnerable individuals to manage a tenancy, encourage and facilitate their independence and quality of life.


• To provide a high standard of support, advice, guidance and practical support to clients to enable independent living skills
• Dealing with housing, benefits, welfare rights, personal finance, and the promotion of personal independence
• Handling matters relating to the tenancy (e.g. Housing Benefit advice, anti-social behaviour, arrears advice etc)
• Ensuring client records are kept safe and confidential up to date and in accordance with the Data Protection Legislation
• Using a CRM System (Salesforce) to conduct admin work including client support documentation
• Working effectively as part of housing and support team & regular case reports to your line manager
• Assessing individual tenants support needs and to liaise with statutory and non-statutory/voluntary agencies, where appropriate
• Effectively Manage a designated caseload and actively maintaining records of supported caseloads
• Reviewing support plans and progress against set target goals regularly


• Relevant experience of working in social housing, statutory or voluntary sector environment in a similar role

• Strong experience and awareness of working with the Benefit and Welfare system particularly Housing Benefit & Job Seekers Allowance/Employment Support Allowance

• Experience in managing caseloads, completing a risk assessment and support plans

• Posses a higher level of education relevant training/ experience and may have a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIH)

• Excellent Admin/IT skills The applicant must complete an enhanced DBS check before taking up the role


• Experience and knowledge of working with Refugee & Migrants clients

• Good leadership and management skills

• Supervision and coaching skill/experience

• Experience in managing and appraising staff performance

• Knowledge of organisational Policies and Procedures

• Experience, knowledge of Human Resource in the workplace
