ACH Birmingham Awarded Prestigious Gold Status by BVSC and Birmingham City Council

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Supported Exempt Accommodation Quality Standards (SEAQS) Gold Status by the Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) in collaboration with Birmingham City Council. It is an honour to have received this distinction. This esteemed award recognises exempt providers who consistently exceed the standards set for delivering high-quality services to vulnerable tenants in the Birmingham area.

Following the recommendations from the last inspection in which we were awarded Silver status, we implemented systems and targeted training programs to empower our staff and enhance service delivery.

The Gold Status award is an indication of the relentless efforts of the ACH Birmingham team, who have worked diligently alongside our tenants to achieve and surpass the expected service standards. It also highlights ACH's unwavering dedication to providing exemplary support and accommodation to some of Birmingham's most vulnerable communities.

Every two years, BVSC conducts thorough inspections of all exempt providers to evaluate the standard of service being offered to vulnerable tenants. This initiative by Birmingham City Council aims to ensure that only providers who demonstrate a genuine commitment to service quality remain operational, addressing concerns about providers motivated solely by financial gain.

The evaluation process by BVSC inspectors is comprehensive, involving detailed assessments of our policies and procedures, staff competence, and property standards. Inspectors engage with both staff and tenants, ensuring that everyone involved is aware of and adheres to the Charter of Rights.

Following the recommendations from the last inspection in which we were awarded Silver status, we implemented systems and targeted training programs to empower our staff and enhance service delivery. These efforts and the commitment of our dedicated team over the past two years have been instrumental in meeting these rigorous standards and achieving Gold Status.

The formal presentation of the Gold Award will take place in September 2024, during our Multi-Cultural Potluck Day. We are honoured to welcome several external delegates to celebrate with us too and we are looking forward to a great celebration of cultural diversity and a showcase of our team's hard work and dedication.
