Jeff and Yasmeen: a trainer and a refugee

Meet the board: Jeff

My name is Jeff Greenidge, I’m a teacher by trade. I’ve spent 20 years in teaching and then worked in further education, university education and also for the government. For the last part of my career I was Operations Director for Learn Direct for about 17 years before I retired and set up my own businesses and now I’m here as a board member of Himilo.

Why and when did you choose to become a board member for Himilo?

Well it’s interesting that because, it was about 3 years ago when I first become involved with ACH – I did some consulting work for ACH – and at that time they were looking at the training arm which is now called Himilo, and it struck me that the housing had an awful lot to offer in terms of development and support for individuals that would sit nicely within the Himilo Training. So I chose to become a Director of Himilo because I wanted to offer my expertise and support to that worthwhile opportunity.

Hopefully, I’ve contributed my expertise and my experience as a teacher and as a trainer which has been over a long period of time, and I think that’s the main thing. But also, I’ve worked with lots of businesses about business development and business consolidations, so I think that’s another thing that I’ve offered to this organisation.

What are your future aspirations for yourself and for Himilo?

For myself, in terms of my aspirations I really want to make an impact within Himilo, so that Himilo is doing things in the next five years that it never did before and that Himilo itself is making an impact within England and within the international sphere.
