10 years of ACH

We have recently celebrated 10 years of ACH. We've gone all out for our birthday with a rebrand, a new website and a celebratory event!

Our event was held at the Radisson Blu in the centre of Bristol on the 19th April. It was a fantastic turn out with over 70 people from local organisations, ACH staff, local Councillors and more. Andy Burkitt, current ACH Chair, opened the event with some uplifting anecdotes from over the past 10 years. We then showcased our new video '10 Years of ACH' which you can now watch here.

CEO, Fuad Mahamed, gave a presentation to the full room about what we've done to help the integration of refugees and also introduced new projects we are working on to ensure we go above and beyond in the future. He also officially introduced our new branding, which you can learn more about here.

Our guest speaker, Colin Yeo, gave an educational talk on what the next 10 years will look like for refugees and migrants. This was a sombre affair, however, it proved that the work we are doing is crucial to continue to aid refugees and enable them to flourish.

A special thanks to Eileen Means, Board Member, who finished the celebrations on a positive note, giving thanks to the contributions of staff over the past 10 years and showed excitement for what we can achieve in the next 10 years of ACH!

After the formal presentations had finished, we all had a chance to network, take photographs and meet new people. Luckily, the sun was shining and we made the most of this by stepping out onto the balcony that overlooks the Bristol Harbourside. It was a wonderful afternoon enjoyed by all, thank you to everyone who celebrated with us.

We will be holding another event for our 10-year anniversary. This will be a party with tenants, staff and the local community and falls under Bristol Refugee Festival this year.
