On Saturday, the 3rd of June, ACH in partnership with the Coventry city council and Central Hall brought a remarkable event to Coventry. The market fair which saw over 200 people in attendance had a diverse line up of vendors from migrant communities, including representatives from Ukraine, Hong Kong and beyond. It provided a platform for migrants to showcase their businesses, connect with the local community, and gain valuable experience.
The vendors presented a range of offerings, including delectable food, unique gifts, beautiful crafts, piano repair services, and even acupuncture sessions. This was aimed at facilitating their integration into the local community, building their confidence, and providing an opportunity for them to reflect on their business strategies and discover effective ways to promote their services.
It also served as a steppingstone, allowing entrepreneurs to connect with potential customers and learn from their experiences, both successful and challenging.
Additionally, there were various items on display to support the Ukraine war effort, reflecting ACH’s commitment to embracing the local culture while celebrating the diverse backgrounds and empowering migrants and refugees.
Beyond the vendor displays, the event offered an immersive cultural experience. Music filled the air, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with different cultures, gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diversity that enriches our communities. This event exemplified the power of cultural exchange and highlighted the importance of unity and acceptance in our ever-changing world.
At ACH, we are dedicated to creating more opportunities for migrants and refugees to thrive and as we approach Refugee Week, scheduled from the 19th to the 25th of June, we anticipate even more exciting initiatives and events that will further promote compassion and genuine acceptance.
