Meet Filsan

Meet Filsan, our fantastic new Design Volunteer in our Bristol office. Filsan has started volunteering with ACH after recently completing a degree in design at UWE. Read more to find out how volunteering can help you to build interpersonal skills, gain relevant experience and give you opportunities to learn...

1. What did you do before coming to ACH?

Before coming to ACH, I had just finished my undergrad degree at UWE. I studied design with a focus on app design, UX &UI.

2. Why did you decide to come to ACH?

In order to gain more ‘in-house’ experience, I thought it would be good to volunteer with a local organisation as a designer. ACH is well known as a success story in the community, so it only made sense to reach out and get in contact!

3. What project are you working on for us?

Currently, I am working on workbooks for the SEESI project (more details will be available when piloted) as lead designer. I also cover the reception!

4. What is it that you want to achieve?

Haha, good question! My goals and aspirations tend to be quite abstract and often change. At this moment in time, I would say I’d like to continue developing and improving my interpersonal skills.

The only real long term goal/aspiration of mine is to create products/experiences for causes that I am passionate about.

5. What are you hoping to gain from ACH/ Himilo?

At the ACH Bristol office, there’s a rich, diverse melting pot of knowledge, skill and opportunity. While at ACH I can only hope that through working closely with the different departments and teams, I can soak up as much knowledge and as I can and apply it to my professional career!
