Ashley Community Housing has joined forces with CodeDoor, a non-profit organisation that has its roots in Germany. Existing as the sole provider of this course, our Birmingham office is pleased to be working with CodeDoor to bring this wonderful opportunity to refugees in the West Midlands.

Staff attend Refugee Week Conference

On a crisp clear day last week Matilda and I cycled through crowds and commuters to Amnesty International Headquarters in London to the Refugee Week Conference. We came from a range of groups and organisations across the UK to share ideas and get inspiration for this year’s Refugee Week, a week in June which celebrates the contribution that refugees bring to our communities.

Student Support Workshops

Having to plan for your whole future whilst completing exams, coursework and lengthy dissertations can be a huge strain on students, leaving them with little time to stop and think about the small things that can make a big difference. Knowing this, our careers team booked to deliver a ‘Get it Right’ workshop at UWE on the 6th February for the Nigerian Student Society.

Encouraging diversity in tech start-ups

We are excited to be working in partnership with Up Our Street and SETsquared Bristol on a Diversity and Inclusion Project to Improve Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) representation amongst tech start-ups in the city. Set up by the University of Bristol and based at Engine Shed in the heart of the Enterprise Zone, SETsquared Bristol supports high tech start-up companies, and is home to over 80 innovative ventures.
